What the app stores

Alpha Translate stores only the data needed to provide translation, localization, billing, and support features for a Shopify merchant. This can include the shop domain, Shopify app sessions, app settings, selected languages and currencies, translation job metadata, usage counts, logs, and failed translation records.

Translation content

When a merchant starts a translation job or enables autopilot, selected store content is processed by the translation services operated for Alpha Translate. Merchants do not need to create a separate provider account or configure a provider credential.

Managed service

Service credentials are controlled on Alpha Translate servers and are never requested from or returned to merchants in the browser.

Customer personal data

Alpha Translate does not intentionally store customer personal data. Shopify customer privacy webhooks are implemented so customer data requests and redaction requests can be handled if Shopify sends them.

Data deletion

When the app is uninstalled or Shopify sends a shop redaction request, Alpha Translate deletes shop-scoped app data, including sessions, settings, usage events, translation jobs, job logs, task records, memory entries, benchmarks, rollback records, and job failure records.

Data retention

Translation job metadata, audit events, and rollback records are kept only while the app remains installed so merchants can monitor jobs, retry errors, and undo URL changes. Shop-scoped records are removed after uninstall or a Shopify shop redaction request.

Data sharing

Alpha Translate does not sell merchant data. Data is shared only with Shopify, contracted translation processing services, and infrastructure providers when needed to operate and secure the app. Providers receive only the data needed for their part of the service.

International processing and security

Shopify content and app metadata can be processed in countries other than the merchant's country. We use access controls, encrypted transport, restricted service credentials, and operational logs to protect this data. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Merchant rights

Merchants can request access, correction, export, or deletion of app-held shop data by contacting support. Requests are verified against the Shopify shop before disclosure or deletion.
